Rules are changing for FHA

Rules are constantly changing in our business.  Starting October 1st, FHA appraiser will be required to be Certified in the state where they are performing appraisals.  Capuano Appraisal is Certified in Virginia and D.C.  We are not certified in Maryland because the do not reciprocate the licensing.  It seems ridiculous to me that we reciprocate with them and will give them a license in the state of Virginia, but they will not allow us to work in there state.  Personally, Virginia should not allow reciprocity with Maryland until they agree to reciprocate with us.  Currently we are allowing them to steel our business with no additional expenses, while Virginia appraisers have to go through all the classes in Maryland and retake the tests as if we are not even licensed.   This is ridiculous.
