Hi everyone.  So far, the Frank Dodd bill has had no effect on AMC's offering low fees to appraisers.  By reading the bill, this means that many of them should be racking up fines at this time. ( $10,000 per day)  I am still getting way below market fees offered from the usual suspects when it comes to bad AMC's. Everyone in the business knows who they are.  I will not name names due to liability reasons. They know who they are...

We will see in the coming months if things change as the enforcement portion of the bill kicks in.  Either way, It does not effect my company as we do not accept any of these low ball appraisal offers.  My clients know the value of high quality appraisal work.

Let the low ball AMC's type the appraisals themselves if they think it is so easy.   Working for the low ball AMC's is a sure way to put yourself out of business.   I guess, in a way, I should thank them for driving my competition out of business..   Either way.  Appraisers need to know that they are in charge of their own fees.  If the fee is too low, do not accept the offer.  That is business 101.
